Center for Indian Studies

The Center is engaged in a comprehensive study of the history, economy, culture, domestic and foreign policy of India and South Asian countries, as well as their interaction with Russia. The main research areas include the analysis of historical and modern socio-political, economic and cultural processes in the region, the study of India's role in world politics and its strategic partnership with Russia. Special attention is paid to monitoring current issues such as social inequality, caste and gender issues, as well as interfaith relations. An important part of the work is the development of scientific forecasts and the introduction of new data based on primary sources and field research.
