Center for Scientific & Technological Cooperation and Agricultural Research

Center for Scientific & Technological Cooperation and Agricultural Research (Center for S&T Cooperation and Agrarian Research) was established on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences dated 2025.03.02.

The creation of the Center is caused by the need to expand scientific research in connection with the increased needs of the Russian Federation in the development of scientific and technological cooperation with the states of Asia and Africa in the context of the "Turn to the East."

The expansion of the BRICS creates the basis for building up scientific and technological cooperation, which requires an understanding of the structure of the scientific and technological sphere of these countries and real prospects for cooperation.

Equally relevant in the current situation is the study of the directions of agro-industrial cooperation between the Russian Federation and the friendly countries of Asia and Africa. This is determined by the transformation of existing global connections and supply chains in the global agricultural markets. The BRICS countries are beginning to play an important role in forming new ties in the global agricultural markets.

An important area of research will be the assessment of the influence of historically established agricultural institutions (traditional and modern) on reproduction processes and social norms in the countries of Asia and Africa.
