IPSA RC36 Young Scholars Workshop "Rising Influence of China and the BRICS in Turbulent Times"

May 14, 2024 - HYBRID

The IPSA Research Committee on Political Power (IPSA RC36) invites submissions for papers at the IPSA RC36 Young Scholars Workshop. The workshop, exploring the theme "Rising Influence of China and the BRICS in Turbulent Times," is organized in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In recent years, the global geopolitical landscape has witnessed significant shifts, with China and the BRICS nations aiming to play increasingly influential roles. Against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and global crises, understanding the dynamics of this emerging influence becomes imperative. The workshop will provide a platform for emerging scholars to engage in critical discussions and exchange ideas on the evolving role of China and its possible influence on other BRICS countries amid global challenges and uncertainties.

Participants of the IPSA RC36 Young Scholars Workshop are required to attend two hybrid-mode meetings. The first meeting is in May and the second one in October.

The initial hybrid-mode session occurs on May 14, 2024. In this session, we'll discuss the research framework and participants will present their topics. This meeting also provides an opportunity for students from various countries to form international research groups and collaborate on papers.

Abstract Submission Deadline: April 15, 2024
