A large delegation of researchers from the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences), headed by Alikber Alikberov, the Director of the Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences, took part in solemn and scientific events dedicated to this wonderful occasion.

From the 29th of June till the 3rd of July, 2022, the international scientific conference "The World of Central Asia - V" was held in Ulan-Ude. It was organized by the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in connection with the 100th anniversary of this Institute founding.

The conference was attended by over 190 researchers from academic institutions and universities of Russia and about 40 scientists from Mongolia. The delegation from the Institute of Oriental Studies was headed by A.K. Alikberov, the Director and  N.G. Romanova, Deputy Scientific Director. 

At the plenary session A.K. Alikberov made a report "Russia in Greater Eurasia in the Conditions of Strategic Uncertainty: Trends and Prospects".

The Institute expresses its gratitude to the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the opportunity to visit Ulan-Ude, to make presentations and to hold a field session on the shores of Lake Baikal.
