The History of the East Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences) hosted the fourth Nepomninsk seminar on the 27th of September 2021. The event was dedicated to the theoretical problems of the East.

Dr. Andrey Korotaiev, the leading researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies made a report "Historical Roots of the Afrasian Instability Macrozone".

The report touched upon the most important topics on statistical and sociological data correlation. This data was collected on the basis of material from North Africa and the Middle East and was connected with the instability dynamics in the Afrasian macrozone.
