TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation of the Republic of Korea KBS published an article on the 18th of September 2021. The article was on the Institute of Oriental Studies and the project initiated by its Department of Korea and Mongolia to study the Korean language origins.

The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences has announced recently that it will present an international project to study the Korean language origins. This project is being led by Dr. Alexander Vorontsov and Dr. Vladimir Verkholyak from the Korea and Mongolia Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies. 

Dr. Verkholyak defended his PhD thesis on the 17th century Korean grammar. Then he continued his studies of the Korean language while working as a professor at the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, Russia. He has transferred recently to the Institute of Oriental Studies.
