Mr. Pak Sangbe, the Head of the Russian branch of the Korean Fund, the largest South Korean fund specializing in public diplomacy and supporting Korean studies abroad, visited the Institute of Oriental Studies on October 30th, 2019.

Mr. Park Sangbe presented a valuable collection of books on Korean studies to the Cabinet of History and Culture of Korea specially created at our Institute.

Mr. Pak Sangbe checked out with great interest  the book collections of prominent Korean studies scholars: Y.V. Vanin, L.R. Kontsevich, and Kim Lechun. Then he supported the plans of the Cabinet to conduct seminars and conferences on the issues of classical Korean studies, history and culture of Korea, Russian-Korean relations, lectures, exhibitions, descriptions, and further digitization of unique personal collections of the leading Russian scientists and cultural figures studying Korea.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Park Sangbe wished the Cabinet success in its activities aimed at preserving and studying Korean cultural and spiritual heritage.
