From March 6 to April 4, 2022, the research fellows of the Department of Asian and African languages, Institute of Oriental Studies RAS A. Krylova and E. Renkovskaya conducted a linguistic field trip to the native speakers of the Kullui language (Himachal Pradesh, India).

It has been the fifth trip made by the team to the Kullui speaking area. The first field trip took place in 2014 in collaboration with colleagues from the Institute of Linguistics RAS. Since that time, a project was launched to document and study the minor Indo-Aryan language Kullui (< Himachali). Currently, the team is completing work on compiling the grammar and dictionary of Kullui. During the expedition of 2022 the focus was on collecting dialectal data. The work was carried out in the Kullu district (town of Kullu, villages of Summa, Bajaura and Manikaran) and the Manali district (villages of Bahandi, Tihri, Aut).
